Monday: continue presentations and meet with me re college application essays.
Tuesday: finish presentations and meet with me.
Wednesday: movie analysis and meet with me.
Thursday: movie analysis and meet with me.
Friday: Ted Talks due and final explanation.

Week of 6/3/2013
Friday: work on your Ted Talks assignment! You really need to read the instructions!
You will meet with me 3 times total 1:1 between last week and next Friday about your college application essay. See college application essay tips for advice.
In your group, continue to work on diagnosis project due this Weds.
Remember that Ted Talks is due next Friday. Please read all the instructions first!

Week of 5/28/13
Tuesday: diagnosis project begins. Presentations will be next Wednesday. Groups form today.
Wednesday: Ms. Diozzi visits and we begin the college application essay journey together. hw: 3 possible topics for you.
Thursday: brainstorming 1:1 mini sessions begin today.
Friday: work in groups on diagnosis project.

Monday: therapy notes please turn in mental illness and therapy current events if you have not already done so.
Tuesday: continue taking notes on different types of therapy.
Wednesday: diagnosing movies. HW movie project!
Thursday: Movie project due. and therapy quiz in class. Open note for CP, no notes for honors.
Friday: In class, diagnosing celebrity activity worth 20pts. Movie project accepted for 25% off.

Week of 5/13/2013
Monday: brief class, schizophrenia. Remember current event printed out and summarized in writing -please remember that there might not be internet...
Tuesday: Current event discussion for CP. continue mental disorders notes. Honors no class, ce due W. hw watch this ted talk
Wednesday: any movie project questions? continue mental disorders notes.
Thursday: Sorry, I am home with sick kid. In class please read Psychopathic Kids? and do the write up. Due in class Monday, but this is lengthy so use your time wisely. hw: therapy current event, this must be printed out and relate to some aspect of emotional therapy, (not physical therapy), please have read the article and summarized it (if article is super brief, find a different one on the same topic/event).
Friday: Bring in therapy related current event. Same rules as before and must be printed out. Any movies from not on the list must be approved before your classtime Friday, email requests only, must have imdb link.

Monday: video and questions in class.
Tuesday: abnormal ppt
Wednesday: continue notes!
Thursday: continue mental illnesses with "personality disorder party."
Friday: hw for monday, Mental illness in the news, bring in a current event that relates to any aspect of mental illness other than therapy (you are doing one for that later next week) Must have happened within the last few weeks, try to find something that everyone else won't have, and must be one of the types of disorders that we have looked at this week. (No zombies, horror movies, or just plain evil, those are not mental illnesses)

Wednesday:in class beginning Personality unit. hw take the "personality test" either in naviance or here, or here link or another. Please come in knowing your results and ready to discuss your thought on validity.
Thursday: in class personality notes continued.
Friday: in class work on personality.

Monday: classical conditioning. big bang(notes due, hw from the weekend) link.
Tuesday: sleep/dream journals due, in class write up for 100pts.
Wednesday: operant conditioning. Sleep packet (completed) to be turned in at start of class.
Thursday: Classical and operant conditioning.
Friday: Turn in your animal training manual to the appropriate folder. Please use the class period to begin your How to train your friends... project. You can do the first few steps right now. How to train your friends experimental write up is due Tuesday after vacay, please do not start this on Sunday night, worth 80pts. Have a great vacay, sorry to be out, sick baby.

Friday: in class, Eyewitness Testimony news discussion. hw: what is your earliest memory from your childhood? write it down and then, if at all possible, talk to your parents or someone who was there at the time to get their perspective on it also.

Week of 3/4/2013
Monday: fully completed rubrics are due! Begin Sense Project hw: read and notes on p94-96
Tuesday: in your sense groups, define your vocabulary and start planning how you will teach the class on Friday. hw, read section on your sense in text to define all terms (in your own words in the notes section for your project). Honors please finish up brochure. Due by Friday, but no more classtime will be provided.
Wednesday: work in your groups, begin putting notes somewhere online where we can access them with a LIVE link. My apologies that wikispaces is not working with lightspeed this year. (Shocking that lightspeed messes with something that otherwise works!) Please create either a googledoc, prezi, or whatever with your notes (inc all terms) and share the LIVE link with me at gould@bpsk12.org and I'll put it in the project space so everyone can access your notes. Because of the technical glitch, you are getting an extension. The presentations will be on Monday, not Friday.
Thursday: figure out how you are going to get everyone in the class participating in the learning activity and make sure notes are in your section.
Friday: Practice your presentation, make sure I have your notes link by the end of class. Quiz questions must be emailed to gould@bpsk12.org by the end of your class period.

Tuesday:in class finish brain imaging and open note quiz, H, the brain of a serial killer, hw zombie brain.
Wednesday: H, in class teenage brain using vacation reading and ted talk, hw for all: zombie brain.
Thursday: in class, Honors finish teen brain brochure/poster assignment, CP read and answer questions on Teen brain due friday. For all, hw zombie brain.
Friday: Zombie brain due, posted in the appropriate place. Post your link in the discussion section of either CP zombie or Honors Zombie.
Your link must be live because each of you are evaluating two projects, completed rubrics due Monday.

HW: read/notes pgs 46-52 by W. If you want to do your reading online check out neurotransmitters . (please know that, on open note quizzes in CP, you must use notes you wrote yourself, if I wrote the notes it will be cheating to use them).
Tuesday: Discussion on mind/body connection. Start up on the brain. Neurotransmitter Jeopardy if you want to test yourself link.
Please go to the ap store and download the free 3D Brain or link here we will be using this a bunch so please get it done.
Wednesday: Reading/notes due. Begin ppt and vocabulary activity

Week of 1/28/2013
Monday: To do out of class, sign up for this wiki with a name that we all can recognize as yours, upload a picture for 5 extra credit points. Both of these are hard/impossible to do on an iPad, seek out a computer.
Tuesday: For our first group exercise we will be investigating some of the most compelling psychological studies in the field of psychology. Today your group will read about a studied phenomenon. After working together to create a detailed summary of the phenomenon and studies of it, determine what the research objectives were (what were they trying to determine?), what happened in the study, were there any design flaws, what were the findings, do you think that this experiment could be done today (why, why not?) and why was this study so important. Your source is blog. Your group will be posting in your class's Methods page which is why you created a login already for wikispaces. Please follow the instructions located within that link.
Please prepare to share your findings with the entire class on Friday.
HW is to read and take notes on research methods pgs 25-35 in your text, this is due Thursday.
Wednesday: continue to work in your groups on research methodology, every member who wants to earn points, please spellcheck! Work together to answer all the questions, be prepared to share your findings with the class .
Thursday: Continue to work in your groups presenting research methodology, and be prepared for a quiz on the readings and the study your group is summarizing.
Friday: CP, review quiz. Honors, Be prepared to present your study to the class.
